UMA symposium, October 24th:
University of Maine at Augusta President, Dr. Glenn A. Cummings, has stated UMA’s support for the mission of the Maine Families Network, citing UMS’s strong commitment to areas of study related to healthy living and community-based support networks.
He describes MFN and UMA as logical allies in building a stronger Maine.
With this in mind, the University has committed studio resources to host, and record for online viewing, a joint symposium to be held on Saturday, October 24th, 2015.
A child’s development and educational journey begins at home. Parents and other family members are the child’s first teachers. It is within the family that essential skills, values and ethics are learned.
The panel consisted of a diverse group of individuals from Kennebec County. By thoughtful sharing and listening to each other, they served as “natural experts”, each contributing to a powerful and insightful conversation. While the event was not open to the public, it was be recorded and available to view online afterwards.
This event took place on October 24, 2015. You can see a full video here: MFN Symposium
